Don't let your dreams just be dreams - Anna in England: Gastfamilienwechsel

Um es kurz zu machen: Ich habe meine Gastfamilie gewechselt. Der Grund dafür ist, dass es meinem (früheren) Gastvater wirklich nicht gut geht, die Sorte nicht gut, bei der man viele Wochen in Krankenhäusern und Spezialkliniken verbringt. Er ist zwar auf dem Weg der Besserung, trotzdem bin ich für meine Gastmutter mit ihren eigenen drei Kindern im Moment nur eine zusätzliche Belastung, die sie momentan ja nun wirklich nicht gebrauchen kann.

To make it short: I changed my Hostfamily. The reason for that is basically that my (former) Hostdad is really ill, the sort of ill where you spend a lot of time in hospitals and specialised hospitals. He may be recovering, but after all, for my Hostmum with her own three children I am just another burden. And she really couldn’t need another one right now.

Es ist eigentlich schon eine Woche her, dass ich in meiner neuen Gastfamilie angekommen bin (sorry für das späte Update, war nicht so geplant). Die Eltern heißen Michelle und Graham, sie haben eine dreizehnjährige Tochter namens Kayleigh und eine andere Austauschschülerin aus Italien, Elisa, die schon seit dem Beginn des Schuljahres in der Familie ist. Ich habe übrigens nicht Schule gewechselt, ich bin immernoch im guten alten Sixth Form Campus. (Hmm, was müsst ihr noch wissen?) Mein Schulweg ist jetzt keine Tagesreise mehr und eher eine 20 Minuten Fahrt. Und last but not least: Diese Familie hat Haustiere! Es gibt einen Hund, Misty und zwei Katzen namens Jets und Two-Tone.

It is actually already a week ago that I arrived in the new Hostfamily (sorry for late update, I didn’t mean to). The parents names are Michelle and Graham, they have got a thirteen year old daughter named Kayleigh and another Hoststudent from Italy, Elisa, who has been in this family since the beginning of the exchange year. I have not changed school though, it’s still good old Sixth Form Campus. (Hmm, what else do you need to know?) My way to school is now not an entire daytrip anymore and more of a 20 minutes ride. And kind of last but not least: This family has got pets! There are a dog, Misty, and two cats called Jets and Two-Tone.
